Abstract

The locations of historical Japanese castles are positioned on the web along geographic and time coordinates. The work was initiated with the objectives of the possible opening up of new viewpoints and gaining of knowledge by controlling time in order to allocate the castles from their emergence to their disappearance on a map. As references in web implementations, for example, there is the Cultural Heritage Online in Japan. The site has postings of the current cultural heritages. In the present work, historical buildings which are the castles are saved along geographic and time coordinates. In order to represent them on the web, the content is described by using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. The representations have been made using responsive web design to support the output size for the monitor.
