Formulation of web accessibility policies and publication of annual test results in Japanese cities

Abstract

　Public administration is in the process of formulating web accessibility policies and disclosing test results. In 2019, the Web Accessibility Infrastructure Committee conducted a survey on prefectures and ordinance-designated cities and published the results. After that, the current situation as of April 2022 was clarified in Honda(2022), a presentation at the 30th (2022) Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Information and Knowledge, and web accessibility was established in all prefectures and ordinance-designated cities. In addition, the results of annual examinations were made public by 44 groups in prefectures and by 19 groups in ordinance-designated cities. This research investigates the current status of the formulation of web accessibility policies and the publication of annual test results in cities other than ordinance-designated cities in Japan, which was not clarified by the Web Accessibility Fundamental Committee and Honda (2022).
