Abstract
The photochemical effect on seven cultured human cancer cell lines were studied. Each cell was irradiated by Ar laser light after HPD treatment. Cell survivals were measured by dye exclusion test and they decreased depending on the power density of Ar laser irradiation and HPD concentration. But the sensitivities to that effect were different among these cell lines. By laser-excited fluorescence microscope, it was found that HPD was uptaken mainly in cytoplasm. Ultrastructural studies showed that main change occured on mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticulum, free ribosome, and nuclear membrane.
