Abstract
CO2 lasers has been used to drain subretinal fluid in retinal detachment surgery and to resect conjunctival hemangioma for the purpose of suppressing hemorrhage and protecting the surrounding tissues.
20 cases of retinal detachment were selected to drain subretinal fluid. After the sclera was incided about 2mm width to expose the choroid, wich was irradiated by CO2 laser beam under the condition of 80μm in diameter, 2w and 0.05 sec. It was found that subretinal fluid was drained sufficiently with no complications, such as choroidal hemorrhage or retinal hole.
One of conjunctival hemangioma was experienced, and it has been resected by CO2 laser beam of 1w c. w. mode successfully with minimum bleeding.
