Abstract
Since March, 1980, we have analyzed a total of 50 cases of CO2laser operation made on head and neck cancers. The laser operation was made principally for the purpose of vaporization and removal of primary cancer, mass-reduction for multi-modal treatment, and control of recurrent cancer. This direct cancer control achieved an effective ratio as high as 82.6%, The CO2laser operation is an effective surgical means for head and neck cancers. In particular, the mass-reduction of cancer through with CO2laser for the purpose of multi-modal treatment is available because it develops no cell contamination in. the area of operation. To cure cancer completely with the laser operation only, however, the case should be selected with utmost care.
