Abstract
The authors investigated the effects of vanillin and salicylaldehyde on the extirpated frog heart intoxicated by quinine and chloralhydrate.
The extirpated frog heart intoxicated by chloralhydrate or quinine could not be recovered by vanillinn and salicylaldehyde despite their various concentrations. Moreover, at the concentration of quinine or chloralhydrate where no effects are noted when either of them are applied alone, even the proper cardiac movement inhibitory action of vanillin or salicylaldehyde was observed.
