Abstract
Conditions for the determination of carbonic anhydrase were studied. Temperature in water both was kept at 20°C and air was used as the gas phase. Enzymatic activity was calculated on the basis of CO2 production during the thirty or ninety-second period starting thirty seconds after tipping in the substrate. In the range of 1/100-1/800 dilutions of blood, there was a linear relationship between the concentration of blood and the production of CO2 for 30 to 90 sec. following the reading.
