Abstract
Two hundreds one cases of gestational toxemia in prolonged pregnancy were observed between January 1957 and December, 1963. The incidental ratio of these cases was 6.1 % of prolonged pregnancy and many of them occurred, in patients with primiparas. They were most frequently seen in winter and spring.
We have divided gestational toxemia into two main groups, i. e. the fundamental toxemia and the specific toxemia. Further classification of the first group was done into 4 types by the results of findings upon the status of hypertension, albuminuria, and edema both during prignancy and in the puerperium: type 1 had less frequent symptoms and type 4 the highest.
Albuminuria was the most persistent disorder among three main symptoms mentioned as above.
