Abstract
A case of severe neonatal anemia due to fetomaternal transfusion was reported. Hemoglobin was 5.1 g/dl at birth and acute hemorrhagic schock with cardiac failure was observed.
Mother's HbF schowed 3% total Hb (control 0.2%)
Blood transfusion was given 110 ml in total. From 28th days after birth the patient was administered with Iron for 85 days, and no post transfusion anemia was found.
It is thought that fetomaternal transfusion is not uncommon and important cause of neonatal anemia.
