Abstract
A total of 246 patients with herpetic pain and postherpetic neuralgia have been treated in the pain clinic during the past 8 years. Nerve blocks were performed in 132 patients with herpetic pain. The treatment was continued till a satisfactory relief of pain gained. In the patients over 40 years old, the average of frequency and therapeutic periods of the treatment increased remakably. The patients were treated simply by nerve blocks in the pain clinic, but no patients of them complainted of postherpetic neuralgia.
