Abstract
Neuromodulation is one of the ways to treat neurological diseases. As for the electrical stimulation to nervous system, it is necessary to embed electrodes in the body and it is desired to develop non-invasive stimulation technique. Magnetic stimulation is the way to stimulate biological tissue non-invasively. However, mechanisms of magnetic stimulation are not completely understood. To understand the mechanisms, it is useful to use the in vitro model which enables us to study the activities of nervous system at the cellular level. In this study, we developed a micro-magnetic stimulation system by using microfabrication techniques to study the mechanisms of magnetic stimulation.
