The cortical layered structure is formed by migration of neurons during the embryogenesis. Disturbances in the structure can cause epilepsy. However, little is known about the mechanism of the layer formation due to the lack of appropriate models. Here, we established a surface patterning method for a cell migration model. A laminin stripe pattern was made by polydimethylsiloxane and neural cells differentiated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) were cultured on the pattern. As a result, neurites extended along the stripe pattern and migration was observed. The results suggest that the pattern is useful for a migration model of iPSC-derived neurons.
