Abstract
Wearable pulse oximeters (PO) are gaining great attention in the healthcare fields nowadays. The study developed PO, which the probe with red and infrared LEDs and a photodiode are mounted on eyeglasses and earphones (Figure (a)(b)(c)). The PO enables to collect PPG and SpO2 with the same wearing procedure as general eyeglasses or earphones. The Figure (d)(e) shows PPG collected by the PO from a subject during a rest. Since the nose-bridge and the ear canal have smaller motion artifacts and are close to the arteries, it measures stable PPG. The developed PO can be applied to monitoring of drowsy-drive, altitude sickness, or dyspnea.
