Abstract
Measuring blood pressure is an effective way for health care.Blood pressure is measured by a cuff in general, but the restriction is unsuitable for a long-time measurement. Therefore, studies of blood pressure estimation without a cuff have been researched in recent years.Non-invasive way of blood pressure estimation using Photoplethysmograph is conducted with ease of equipment. However, it is known that blood pressure and pulse wave change by its measuring condition.Previous studies reported that heart rate increase by the activity of autonomic nerve after mealtime. So we hypothesized that relations of Photoplethysmograph and blood pressure may change. We focus on the effect of mealtime in blood pressure estimation in this study.First, we classified the data of Photoplethysmograph and blood pressure of 716 subjects according to the time passed after mealtime. Then multiple regression analysis was applied of blood pressure estimation. As a result, the accuracy of blood pressure estimation was improved by separating the influence of mealtime. We suggested effectiveness of considering mealtime in blood pressure estimation when using Photoplethsmograph.
