We evaluated the combined effect of whole body vibration (WBV) and intermittent parathyroid hormone administration (iPTH) on postmenopausal osteoporosis. Mice were ovariectomized for osteoporosis induction at 9-week-old and, two weeks later, were underwent 18-day treatment of sinusoidal vibration (0.3g, 45Hz, 20min/day) or random vibration (0.3g (rms), 45-100Hz, 20min/day) with/without iPTH (30μg/kg/day). After sacrifice, tibiae were harvested for μCT analysis. Our data shows that sinusoidal vibration increased the trabecular volume fraction when combined with iPTH and random vibration increased both volume fractions of trabecular bone and cortical bone volume when combined with iPTH (Fig.1).
