Inpatients of cardiovascular disease need to manage fluid valance by water restriction and urine sampling in order to grasp state of hemodynamics. Measuring cup is used for urine volume measurement in general, but nosocomial infection by urine in air and cup after used is a problem. Also, elderly and physically handicapped inpatients may need help by nurses. As a method of avoiding these problems, liquid volume estimation using a camera has been proposed. However, this method incudes severe constraint conditions on functions of the camera. They therefore will become barriers for introduction into toilets set up in hospitals because of the cost to fulfill the conditions. Accordingly, we realize low cost liquid volume estimation using a single-board computer (Raspberry Pi) and camera module. We revealed how the different experimental conditions affect estimation accuracy when applying the multiple cylindrical model. By comparing previous research and proposed method, we showed effectiveness of our method along with the applicable range. Furthermore we indicated possibility of realizing simple urine volume management by transmitting and accumulating data to server from Raspberry Pi.
