Convex magnet configuration for magnetic immunostaining

Abstract

Magnetic immunostaining can significantly promote the immunoreaction using a magnet and antibody-labeled fluorescent ferrite (FF) beads and diagnose the cancer metastasis during operation. We proposed a convex magnet for uniformly attracting antibody-labeled FF beads toward antigens on an entire tissue section and evaluated the magnet configuration by the curvature radius in the magnet surface. In numerical analysis result, the optimal curvature radius was 55 mm.
