Abstract

In the field of dentistry, a magnetic alloy that makes up the magnetic attachment is made of magnetic stainless steel with ferromagnetism, and the metal artifact affect the MR image. The purpose of this research group is to make clear the degree of influence by magnetic alloys and to propose an index to judge the necessity of removing magnetic alloys before MRI imaging. This time, using a simulation using a magnetic dipole assuming a magnetic alloy, the artifact were quantified with multiple magnetic dipoles and a single magnetic dipole, and the results were compared. As a result, it was confirmed that the range of influence of the artifact expanded or decreased depending on the distance between the magnetic dipoles in multiple magnetic dipoles. Thus, it was suggested that the artifact may change significantly depending on placement conditions when using multiple magnetic alloys.
