Abstract

Traditional MCG(magneto-cardiography) measurement systems generally need an MSR(magnetically shielded room) to reduce environmental noise. However, an MSR still needs large space and weight so that it costs us a lot of of money. Signal Space Separation (SSS) and gradiometers are known as software shielding methods for reducing environmental noise, but the shielding effect declines when an interference magnetic source exists in the vicinity of the magnetic sensor. In the environment outside an MSR, interfering magnetic sources such as power supplies and air conditioner exist around the magnetic sensor, which cause error of MCG measurements. We applied the tSSS (spatio-temporal Signal Space Separation) algorithm to the MCG signals measured by the array composed of 3-axis TMR sensors. As a result, significant shielding effect was obtained when an interference magnetic source existed in the vicinity of the sensor array.
