Abstract
Radioactive decontamination causes a large quantity of organic matter waste. However, an incineration is not accepted on present showing. On this study, we evaluated the content reducing of branches, leaves, mowed grass, and leaf mold by the chipping and compressing. The solid contents of branches and leaves were reduced to one-eighth of original contents. In addition, the temperature change of compressed branches and leaves were measured for two weeks. It had not overstepped 75 degree C which was a considerable danger of igniting. We will continue to measure the temperature to evaluate long term change.
