In the study, attitude of households toward kitchen waste composting at households was investigated. The relationship between characteristics of households who conduct kitchen waste composting and activity of home garden were investigated by a questionnaire survey at Takaoka town, Miyazaki. It was found that households who conducted composting of kitchen waste by themselves were also active for home garden. And there was a tendency that older people conducted composting of kitchen waste. For a promotion to encourage people to conduct composting of kitchen waste the method and benefit about composting should be provided at events concerning with the environment issues and gardening.
