Abstract

Antibiotics have been widely used as dramatic therapeutic agents against infectious diseases since the advent of penicillin. However, antibiotic-resistant bacteria having resistance to antibiotics have emerged due to easy administration of antibiotics. In particular, the emergence of bacteria resistant to colistin, which has been said to be the trump card in the treatment of intractable multidrug-resistant bacterial infections, has a great influence on the treatment of infectious diseases. Since the amount of antibiotics used for livestock is greater than that for humans, drug-resistant bacteria that use animal antibiotics for livestock may be transmitted to humans via food. When composting livestock manure etc. as a recycling society, it is necessary to pay attention to antibiotics and drug resistant bacteria.
