A probabilistic fracture model is introduced to clarify the influence of the fiber bundle-matrix interfacial condition on the fracture energy and fracture behavior of short-fiber-reinforced SMC composites. In this paper, two parameters of the inter-facial condition are examined, i.e., the debond stress and the constant which governs the friction between a debonded fiber bundle and matrix in the debonding process. Then, the effect of the parameters on the fracture energy and the maximum load on the load-displacement curve is elucidated.
