Abstract
In this work, an attempt was made to pre-vulcanization of natural rubber with microwave energy using rectangular wave guide (MODE: TE10). Natural rubber was mixed with curatives, antioxidants, sulfur and carbon black on Two Roll Mill at 50℃. The rubber compounding was subjected to microwave energy. The increase in sulfur content results in increasing of % crosslink, with the maximum of 0.08 mol/cm.The resulting rubber was structural characterized by FTIR spectroscopy.
