This study investigated unique performances of fibroin-hydrogel sponge for articular cartilage regeneration. Histological analysis showed that the formation of a hyaline cartilage-like structure was seen in the fibroin sponge. Result of pin-peeling tensile testing showed that the cartilage-like structure had high strength and the strength of the regenerated tissue increased with cultivation days.
