In this study, we simulate compression of graphite and bending of graphene using molecular dynamics to explain the mechanism of kink-band deformation and mechanical characteristics of them. The results show that kink-band is formed under compressing of graphite with lx : ly aspect ratio 2:3 when the strain equal approximately 0.02 and the potential energy of graphene proportionately increases as the curvature of kink-band deformation increases.
