It is known that severely rolled Cu-Zn alloys show strength superior to the other strengthening methods because of deformation twins. The crystal orientation distribution of the twins affects the mechanical properties of the rolled Cu-Zn. However, no research exists to reproduce the mechanical anisotropy of the rolled Cu-Zn based on information on rolling texture, including dislocation distribution. This study performs a rolling simulation of a Cu-Zn alloy to estimate the relationship between the dislocation density and the resolved shear stress. The distribution of initial dislocation density, necessary for strength prediction, is predicted from the crystal orientation information. The relationship between microstructure and initial dislocation density distribution and mechanical properties will be discussed through crystal plasticity simulation based on the rolled-induced microstructure and dislocation density accumulation.
