This study proposes a framework of shape optimisation for the 3D dissipative wave equation. The shape derivative in the boundary form has been successfully derived by the adjoint variable method. Sound scatterers to be optimised are modelled with the NURBS patches and thus their control points are selected as the design variables. The present shape optimisation is validated through some numerical experiments with the help of the time-domain boundary element method, which was proposed by the previous study.
