Abstract
Quasi-isotropic and cross-ply laminated composite shells were made of CFRP. Additionally, an steel shell was made too. The experimental study on modal analysis of these shells was investigated in this paper. The vibration frequency and mode shape were detected with STAR-system. It can be seen that the frequency curves are crossing at n=3 and reversed upside-down each other between shells. It was found that frequencies and mode shapes of the vibrated shells were related with cross-elasticity effect.
