Abstract
Centrifugal pendulum vibration absorbers (CPVA) have been used for many .years as a method to suppress torsional vibrations. The authors clarified CPVA's dynamic characteristics in a previous paper. Recently, centrifugal roller vibration absorvers (CRVA) which have a similar but simpler structure started to be used in some automobile engines. However, the dynamic characteristics of CRVA are not known well. In this study, the nonlinear equations motion of CRVA are derived and their chatacterictics are investigated theoretically and numarically. Especially, the difference between CPVA and CRVA is discussed from the viewpoint of the effect of vibration suppression.
