Abstract
In recent years, the noise caused by corrugated narrow-gauge wheel tend to increase compare it to a conventional wheel. It is assumed that the wheel is easy to occur lateral vibration because the thickness of side plate of the wheel becomes thin. We carry out the analysis to investigate the sound radiation of the wheel using 3D-FEM analysis, modal analysis, and sound intensity method. As the result, we found that the frequencies of the main modes are 1506Hz, and wheel vibration has close relation to sound power. Furthermore, the solution obtained by the FEM analysis agree well with the solution obtained by the experiment.
