401 Polygonal Wear of Work Rolls in a Hot Leveler of Steel Making Machine : Experimental Verification

Abstract

This paper deals with the experimental result of the polygonal deformation phenomena in contact rotating system. The experimental device on the model of hot leveler of the steel making machine was manufactured, and the polygonal deformation was generated in the upper roll. The experimental result was compared with analysis, and the countermeasure by changing operating speed was examined.
