Abstract
The coupled motion of a snowboard and slope is caused by a snowboarder's snowboard control. The accuracy of a numerical approach for the coupled motion is discussed. The motion of a snowboarder's center of gravity, displacement of the snowboard, edging force and moments acting to the snowboard from the snowboarder, contact pressure distribution between snowboarder and elastic foundation, and so on are measured. A relative displacement of the snowboard's computed and compared with experimental one. From the comparison it follows that one can analyze accurately the coupled motion using the numerical approach developed by the authors.
