Abstract
Guide is used to constrain the exccessive vibration of the rotor. On the other hand, due to guide, the vibration shows rub motion in the wide speed range when the rotor once contacts with guide. This paper describes the suppression of the rotor-guide rub at the steady state condition. An asymmetric flexible supported guide model is introduced to reduce the vibration due to contact of the rotor with guide. Simulation shows that the vibration suppression is practically possible at steady state condition. Theoretical explanation is also demonstrated here for the confirmation of showing these phenomena for this proposed model.
