Abstract
A moving apparatus utilizing self-synchronized phenomenon is developed. The apparatus, which consists of two blocks with rotating masses driven by DC motors, moves at a constant average speed due to an unsymmetrical property of dry friction force acting on each block from the floor. In this report, the authors investigate an effectiveness of using self-synchronized phenomenon on the moving system, and consider the optimum design condition in order to improve moving performance by applying the shooting method.
