Abstract
Recently, semi-active vibration control devices have been utilized to various structural design problems. Magneto-Rheological(MR) damper that use MR fluids is one of semi-active vibration control devices. In most of past report, no damping force of MR damper has been evaluated. These methods can confirm the effect of damping. However, it has not been examined whether MR damper can produce required design damping force. So, in this paper, I focus attention on damping force and examine the improvement of the MR damper. I also confirm the influence of precipitation of MR fluids on damping force.
