Abstract
In the previous paper, the authors proposed a new type of dynamic vibration absorber using a three-layered cantilever beam, called moment-type dynamic vibration absorber, which suppress the moment caused by the vibration of a three-layered cantilever beam. The three-layered beam consists of two copper plates and viscoelastic material. In this paper, the effects of vibration suppression of a moment-type dynamic vibration absorber using a three-layered cantilever beam to a primary simply supported beam is discussed theoretically and experimentally, and compared with an ordinary-type dynamic vibration absorber which has the same mass ratio.
