Abstract
This paper deals with a diagnosis of machine structures by detecting local abnormalities of measured signal through the harmonic wavelet. In this paper, the harmonic wavelet was utilized to detect the abnormalities of the signal. It was necessary for the harmonic wavelet to remove the end effects and reduce the obstructive noise in order to implement the diagnosis effectively. The authors proposed a method to remove the end effects. As a result, it was made clear that the harmonic wavelet detect the local abnormalities arising from the fatigue crack of crack length 1.07mm.
