Abstract
In this paper, the frequency characteristics of our estimation method of velocity and acceleration using Radial Basis Function (RRF) interpolation are investigated. Fstimation method of velocity and acceleration from measured displacement data has been required in the system identification and control fields. Our estimation method is compared with other estimation methods such as the difference approxi-mation and the natural cubic splines. Basic frequency characteristics of estimation methods with off-line calculation using sampled data in one period of sinusoidal wave are investigated. It is found from calculation results that our estimation method can estimate velocity and acceleration more precisely than other two methods if number of sampled data is not less than five. Next, estimation methods are applied to an on-line estimation in which certain numbers of latest sampled data are used. Calculation results show validity of our estimation method.
