Abstract
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the damping characteristics of an oil damper numerically. In this paper, the Finite Difference Method (FDM) was used for solving the flow problems with moving boundaries. The computation proceeded in Fractional Step method. Arbitrary Lagarangian-Eulerian (ALE) method is used for moving boundaries. The computational results were compared with an experimental value, and it was found that they are coincided with each other.
