Abstract
The electro-magnetic device, such as electro-magnetic damper for automobile and electro-magnetic actuator for railway vehicle, has an electric motor as a mechanism of force generation, and the rotor of the motor generates inertia force because of its moment of inertia. In this paper, the authors formulate the relationship between the inertia force and the viscous damping force quantitatively. And a method for changing the acceleration-damping force characteristic by controlling the current of the electric motor is proposed and its efficiency is verified by an examination.
