Abstract
Vibration and acoustic models for carpet on automotive vehicle floor has been developed. The vibration model is expressed of by lots of sets of a spring, mass and damper on FEM model. Two kinds of the acoustic models are developed for the two types of carpet with and without bucking sheet. These models on a beam structure are verified by the comparison of the modal properties, frequency response and acoustical intensities between measured and calculated. These models are also applied to a plate system. As a result, the predicted results are good agreement with the measured on the vibration of both the panel and the carpet surface, radiated sound.
