Abstract
Transient Statistical Energy Analysis (TSEA) is suitable tool to predict transient sound and vibration especially in huge structures like ship-buildings under the shock excitation. This paper discusses an experimental method for evaluating subsystem energies in time domain in order to verify the TSEA predictions. This paper uses an L-shaped which is composed of two flat rectangular plates. The accelerations at lots of points on its one subsystem are measured to establish the method As a result, it is suggested that the subsystem energy must be measured by one point measurement at the center of gravity of the subsystem or by some points measurement at the points which coordination average corresponded to the center of gravity. Finally, it is demonstrated that the established method works well fot the verification of the TSEA predictions on a system with three subsystems.
