Abstract
In recent years, the weight of vehicles haw been decreased to save energy, while the light weight vehicle for reducing the weight invites low stiffness affects on driving performance of the vehicles. According to this, a road simulator utilizing a belt conveyer and an experimental vehicle with variable body stiffness are built to perform experimental research. The stiffness of vehicle body can be varied by changing a burly part. The dynamical behavior of the vehicle is measured by sensors, while the vehicle runs on the road simulator. By comparing the behaviors with different body stiffness the relation between body stiffness and driving performance of the vehicle can be identified.
