Abstract
In order to improve the riding comfort of railway vehicles, it is effective to suppress the vibration of the vertical bending mode. Therefore, we proposed a method to suppress the vibrations by using the damping force control system of axle dampers which are installed between bogie frames and wheel sets. The semi-active control algorithm which controls axle dampers is based on skyhook control theory or LQG control theory. Numerical simulations and running tests on SANYO-SHINKANSEN were carried out, and we show that the proposed control method effectively reduces the first mode bending vibration of the carbody floor.
