Abstract
This work deals experimentally with the stability chart of the regenerative chatter vibration in end milling process. By measuring the vibration of the tool directly in cutting with two laser displacement sensors, it is shown that the vibration characteristics of chatter near the cutting point is evaluated and the stability limits of chatter are able to be derived more definitely. In this work, the stability limit was determined by evaluating chatter frequency and the phase angles between present vibrations and the vibration in the previous cutting process. Finally, it was shown that the relationship between stability chart, chatter frequencies, and phase angle in various spindle speed.
