Abstract
We propose the method for analyzing the envelope functions of random signals using absolute value function. Some signals observed from machines, structures and earthquakes are expected to have various envelope functions and it is important to analyze them. However, if there are additional noises in the signals, the distinction between their envelope functions and noise components is difficult by the conventional approaches. In this study, we apply the method to two types of signals with noise and investigate its ability to extract the envelope functions from random signals.
