Abstract
Various resonances in an axially moving band are produced by the wheel eccentricities and band imperfection. In this research, we focus on the nonlinear resonances for the first mode of the band span under various rotation speeds of the wheel. The resonance occurs in the case when rotational period of the wheel is an integer multiple of natural period of the band. Also, we propose a stabilization method by using a nonlinear coupling between the belt and absorber whose natural frequency is twice that of the first mode of the belt.
