Abstract
The outbreak mechanism of self-excited oscillation of the wire electrode due to corona discharge has not been necessarily given yet. In this paper, the experiment that is focused on the effect of ionic flow field was conducted. Measurement aiming to figure out the relationship between flow velocity and applied voltage was performed with PIV. Then to investigate the influence of heating current to the ionic flow, temperature of the wire and its effect on the corona wind was examined. As the result, natural convection does not change flow field while increment of discgarge current enhance corona wind whitch generates causes of oscillation.
