Abstract
To develop a high usability keyboard, operability of the keyboard was investigated by measuring electromyograph, recording finger movement by means of high speed camera and a sensibility test through surveying questionnaires. One of burdens which appear in the body during keyboard striking, is said to be tendovaginitis. This is caused by large stroke and heavy impact on a keyboard during striking. To lighten the burden, the authors made a new type keyboard of which stroke is less than 0.2mm. The keyboard can also be operated by small striking force. Sensibility experiment was conducted to evaluate the new developed keyboard and the result was used to upgrade the keyboard. Sensibility experiment for the upgraded keyboard was conducted to evaluate the operability of the keyboard by electromyographic measurement, finger movement recording by means of a high speed camera and sensibility test. The upgraded keyboard showed less physical burden but did not show high usability score.
